“Johnny Reeferseed.” Article by Barbara Amiel. Maclean’s, 13 June, 26, 29–30, 32, 34, 37–38, 40. Report on the Robert Rowbotham’s trial in Canada for smuggling hashish, with Mailer as a witness for the defense. Rowbotham was convicted and given a 14-year sentence. Complete transcript of Mailer’s testimony is given in 78.1.
