“Mailer Starts Term in Jail, Labels Nixon ‘Uriah Heep.’” Article by unidentified writer. Evening Star (Washington, D.C.), 5 May. As he turns himself in to begin serving three days for his conviction for disorderly conduct at the Pentagon anti-war protest in October 1967, Mailer called President Nixon “the living embodiment of Uriah Heep,” and implicates him in the death of four students at Kent State University.
