“Critics’ Influence on Campus Part of New Producer Mailer’s Insights.” Article-interview by Stuart Byron. Variety, 9 October. Mailer talks about the lessons he has learned in making films, and the difference between films and novels. “In book criticism it’s usual to treat a first novel with a certain amount of generosity.
