“Norman Mailer: Harlot’s Ghost, Part II: CIA Agent Harry Hubbard Invades the Privacy of an Indiscreet Stewardess.” Rolling Stone, 8 August, 46–47, 49, 52, 54, 56, 90, 92, 94–95. Excerpt from novel of same name (91.26). Illustrated by C.F. Payne. Rpt: Appearing less than two months before the novel, this excerpt (taken with a few very minor changes from “The Alpha Manuscript,” part 5, “The Bay of Pigs, May 1960–April 1961: Miami,” chapters 5 through 9) deals with Hubbard’s assignment to seduce Modene Murphy, lover of J.F.K., Frank Sinatra and Sam Giancana.
