Focus is on The Castle in the Forest (07.10) Mailer defends his depiction of Hitler’s origins: “If we can believe that God or Gabriel was present at the conception of Jesus, then it seems to me we can believe that the Devil was present at the conception of Jesus.” Mailer concludes the interview by saying “I feel more sane than I’ve ever felt in my life.”
