“America’s Obsessions: Norman Mailer Talks about Lee Harvey Oswald, J.F.K., the KGB, O.J. Simpson, and the Nasty Nineties.” Interview by Sean Abbott. At Random, no. 11 (summer), 12–19. Longest and best interview on 95.16, covering all major aspects of the book, including Mailer’s lucid explanation of his six months with Lawrence Schiller in Minsk in 1992–1993, and a good exchange on J.F.K.’s diminished stature in American life. Mailer ends by saying of the sequel to Harlot’s Ghost (91.26): “I’m working on it.”
