Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were all big days (Jan 21 to 23) and I had so many thoughts, feelings, etc. that I was almost flooded by them. Today, after a ball last night, and too much fucking and Lipton’s I am still not depressed which is a good sign. Perhaps the Seconal[1] I took with the Lipton’s has a good effect. Anyway, let me see how much of it I can remember, recast, and state for the first time.

Note

  1. Brand name for Secobarbital sodium, a barbiturate used as a sedative and anticonvulsant. Mailer used this drug regularly in the early and middle 1950s.
