When the businessman thinks of an embarrassing overture he may make which has a small chance of success, he thinks to himself, “After all, I’ll try it. What can I lose?” And the answer, of course, is himself. But businessmen, most of them, lost themselves a long time ago. The rare ones who generally late in life are trying to come back always attract my sympathy. I realize now why I always like them so much.
