Hotel Accommodations

Our conference location this year is the Macon City Center Marriott Hotel, located at 240 Coliseum Drive, Macon, GA, 31217. We have secured a room rate of $119 + tax per night for conference attendees. You can reserve your room one of two ways:

  1. At the following link: Book your group rate for NORMAN MAILER SOCIETY.
  2. By calling 1-888-236-2427, making sure to state that you are with the Norman Mailer Society.

Transportation

If you are booking a flight to Georgia, it is recommended that you fly into Atlanta (ATL). Macon does have a small airport (MCN), though it has limited service.

From Atlanta, you may either rent a car to travel to Macon (a distance of about 80 miles), or you can take the convenient Groome shuttle straight from the airport to Macon. The shuttle takes approximately 90 minutes, and costs $41 for a one-way ticket, or $82 for round trip. Please note that tickets for the shuttle need to be booked in advance. From the shuttle drop off point, it is a quick Uber/Lyft/taxi ride to the Marriott.

Registration

All conference attendees are required to pay a registration fee. Registration fees for the 2018 conference are as follows:

  • 2018 Individual Registration Fee: $150
  • 2018 Student Registration Fee: $75
  • 2018 Guest Fee: $50

Each presenter, moderator, or individual attendee may bring one guest who must pay the Guest Registration Fee of $50. The guest does not have to be a member of the Norman Mailer Society.

If someone who is not a presenter or moderator and attends the conference, that person must be a member, must pay the respective registration fee, and may still one bring one guest.

Registration fees can be paid via PayPal, or can be sent to our Treasurer Jason Mosser at 3825 Lavista Road, F3, Tucker, GA 30084.

Membership Dues

We ask that all conference attendees and participants, with the exception of guests, be members of the Norman Mailer Society. Membership dues remain low, and are as follows:

  • Student ($10)
  • Individual ($30)
  • Couple ($35)
  • LIFE Individual ($300)

If you have not already renewed your membership, dues can be paid via PayPal. Alternatively, you can send fill out the 2018 membership dues form, and send it along with your payment to our Treasurer Jason Mosser at 3825 Lavista Road, F3, Tucker, GA 30084.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Maggie McKinley (mmckinle [at] harpercollege.edu); Jerry Lucas (gerald.lucas [at] mga.edu); or Jason Mosser (jmosser [at] ggc.edu).
