Peer-Review for Mango Masala's Contributions to Project Mailer

  • Journal

Your journal posts are thoughtful and I am impressed that you make frequent and informed references to the material in our course textbook. You clearly practice code there too, with clear headers and citations when you use material from the textbook, something I obviously had trouble with in my Journal.

  • Discussion

I was so glad to see you posting to the Content Gap discussion because, as with all our classes we had had together, I enjoy reading what you have to say. I always learn from your posts and I hope to see your contributions to the current discussion on Thinking about Wikipedia. Your voice comes through so clearly and effectively in these posts.

  • Norris Church Mailer Bio

You really shine here. You were involved from the beginning through to the end, with a solid critique of the original biography, as well as strong contributions to both content, editing, and format of the revised and concise biography. You saved the day by working on the citations. I know we both are still working to master code, including the format for citing sources, but you really stepped up here.

  • Project Mailer

Your bio on PM is clear, concise, and organized. I wondered if the links to wiki pages need to be adjusted so the interactor is able to hover rather than having to click on the references themselves.

The letters you posted to Project Mailer show that you have worked on code and that you are following the template for format. Jules Carrey made some adjustments to format and added some links, but this is something that we are all supposed to be working on this week, linking to Wiki pages (Wikifying it), checking on titles and italics and making sure that that the notes are all correct.

I know from your journal that you are currently working on finishing up your Ihab Hassan article and that you write that you are dealing with a complex article with a lot of citations and notes in French. I wish I could help with the French! All I can say about the citations is that I think picking an article with the many citations is actually good practice for all the citation work for the letters. I picked the opposite, an article without any citations and because I didn’t have that practice, I struggled with them in the letters. I finally went back to the Wiki training, and it helped, as did making sure I used the toolbar on the wiki page for inserting the references/citations: https://dashboard.wikiedu.org/training/students/sources

When you post the final version of the article, let me know, and I can update this last section of the peer review. JVbird (talk) 11:40, 12 April, 2019 (UTC)

@JVbird: Josef, thank you for your thoughtful review. I feel incredibly fortunate to have you as my chum! You have been incredibly supportive, helpful, and very much a calming, reassuring presence (we've had a few late nights, ha ha)! Returning to graduate studies would have been quite different without you. Cheers for being encouraging and inspiring! Mango Masala (talk) 19:30, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
