:::{{reply to|Dmcgonagill}} Wow, looking a lot better — the work paid off! Couple of things: why are the dates centered? Also, links should be the next goal. Some can be linked here (on PM), like titles of books. Other items could be linked to Wikipedia, using, for example, <code><nowiki>[[w:William F. Buckley Jr.|William F. Buckley Jr.]]</nowiki></code> (notice the :w in front). Great work! —[[User:Grlucas|Grlucas]] ([[User talk:Grlucas|talk]]) 20:20, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

:::{{reply to|Dmcgonagill}} Looking good. Note: only link something once, please, like ''Esquire''. Thanks, and sorry I didn't say so before. —[[User:Grlucas|Grlucas]] ([[User talk:Grlucas|talk]]) 00:38, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Revision as of 10:41, 4 April 2019

@Grlucas: Please help me with two editing issues for Appendix III. First, breaking a long entry at the midpoint so that it is somewhat centered under the main heading & the year sub heading. And, making my new second line match the format of the first for which I used {{in5|60}}. Thanks.(Dmcgonagill (talk) 19:28, 2 April 2019 (UTC))

@Dmcgonagill: Hm, that's too much, methinks. How about a table? Did you see another timeline you're using as a model? The problem with doing it this way is that you're formatting it for the width of your screen — make your width narrower and you'll see what I mean. It needs to be able to work on all-sized screens. Make sense? Here's another rule: no more <div> tags at all, please. In fact, no more HTML, OK? Use wiki formatting only. Thanks. 😁 —Grlucas (talk) 21:33, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
@Grlucas: Using Norman_Mailer:_Important_Dates as an example. Please see the first line & tell me if that is better. Thanks.(Dmcgonagill (talk) 11:46, 3 April 2019 (UTC))
@Dmcgonagill: Maybe something like the Timeline of historical geopolitical changes might be better? (Headers should not be bolded.) —Grlucas (talk) 11:56, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
@Grlucas: Ok. Done. This was a lot of work but I think it looks sharp. Please advise on further editing.(Dmcgonagill (talk) 19:40, 3 April 2019 (UTC))
