Robert J. Begiebing is the author of many articles and stories and nine books—including memoir, fiction (a cycle of four historical novels set in New England and Europe), collected journalism, and criticism. His two critical books on [[Norman Mailer]] are ''Acts of Regeneration'' and ''Toward a New Synthesis''. His novel ''Rebecca Wentworth’s Distraction'' won the Langum Prize for historical fiction. His fiction writing has been supported by grants from the Lila-Wallace Foundation and the New Hampshire Council for the Arts. He was one of the inaugural faculty members at the Norman Mailer Center Writers’ Colony in Provincetown, MA. He is Professor of English Emeritus at Southern New Hampshire University, where he served as the founding director of the Low-Residency MFA in Fiction and Nonfiction.
