Robert J. Begiebing is the author of many articles and stories and nine books—including memoir, fiction (a cycle of four historical novels set in New England and Europe), collected journalism, and criticism. His two critical books on [[Norman Mailer]] are ''Acts of Regeneration'' and ''Toward a New Synthesis''. His novel ''Rebecca Wentworth’s Distraction'' won the Langum Prize for historical fiction. His fiction writing has been supported by grants from the Lila-Wallace Foundation and the New Hampshire Council for the Arts. Robert J.
