Report of {{NM}}’s press conference before his keynote speech at the SeaWrite Awards at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok, both on 24 September. Most of his comments dealt with the [[w:Monica Lewinsky|Monica Lewinsky]] scandal. He predicted that [[w:Bill Clinton|Clinton]] would not be impeached because he was immensely popular, and “a prodigious soap opera hero.” He described Lewinsky as “zaftig,” and noted that he thought [[w:Hillary Clinton|Hillary]]’s interrogation of her husband would be “very fierce. Something about the set of her mouth.” Asked about Special Prosecutor [[w:Ken Starr|Starr]]’s report, he said “it was a rather interesting document. I thought, ‘There’s a guy who’s afraid of his wife.’ It made him human to me.”
