Mailer corrects errors in Mordecai Richler’s 26 March review of Scott Berg’s Goldwyn, explaining that he did not pattern Herman Teppis in The Deer Park (55.4) on Goldwyn, “but L.B. Mayer (whom, in fact, I never met, but took pleasure in imagining).” Goldwyn, he continues, “treated me well—if eccentrically—and I remain outrageously fond of his memory.”
