Has anyone remarked that bebop is the first popular and tentative expression of Joycean language. “Gimmerhereson sonomove that avocado sauce with the reekie-fookies.” Which is why I prefer it to “cool” which while technically advanced is nonetheless a retreat from a more advanced state of perception to a more elaborated but retrogressive-in-time social production.
