All of my life with Adele is as if we were making love, and as delicately and as broadly as she tricks and cozens and teases and gratifies my expectations, so does she act the same when we’re out of bed. That’s why we’re bound so deeply, why it’s impossible for us to break up—deep in us it seems as ridiculous as interrupting the act of love.
