She is the author of John Simmons: The Measure of a Man, the biography of John Simmons, founder of Simmons College in Boston where she is a Trustee Emerita. Denise has also written a family memoir Holy Unholy and as a board member of Provincetown ARTS she writes book reviews for the magazine. She also studied biography at the Norman Mailer Writer’s Colony.
