We harbor.
It approaches.

We cleanse.
It befalls.

We fret.
It accumulates.

Here is the death
of centuries past,
consuming
the tallest column,
the largest monument,
the greatest monolith.

So meager, so minute,
so imperious, so absolute.

Dust entombs
What Is into What Was.

It buries us all.
Then we become it.
