  • 2015-09-08: Kristin FitzPatrick’s debut book, My Pulse is an Earthquake, is a collection of short stories available September 1 from West Virginia University Press and for pre-order. The nine stories in My Pulse is an Earthquake take place in the clutches of grief, where characters struggle to make sense of sudden losses of life, love, and community. Here we see survivor’s guilt in its lesser-known forms, as it follows characters to work, to bed, and into their most haunting dreams.
  • 2015-09-07: Dr. Barry Leeds, a longtime favorite in the English Department of Central Connecticut State University, passed away last April. To celebrate his nearly 50 years of service to CCSU, the Department of English is hosting a memorial for Dr. Leeds, to which current faculty, retired faculty, students, friends, and alumni are invited. The event will take place Tuesday, October 6, in the Marcus White living room, from 5 to 7 p.m. This will be an informal venue in which attendees will be invited to share anecdotes and other reminiscences about Dr. Leeds, who was an exemplary teacher, scholar, and mentor for so many through the years.
