Hujun Ren is Professor of English at Sichuan International Studies University, Chongqing, China. He received his Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Northwest Normal University in 1998 and his Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from Nankai University in 2005. His publications on Norman Mailer include one book (Individualism or Egalitarianism?: A Cultural Critique of Power and Morality in the Fiction of Norman Mailer, Lanzhou: Lanzhou University Press, 2007) and several articles which appeared in such academic journals as Contemporary Foreign Literature, Foreign Language Education, Foreign Language and Literature and The Mailer Review. He is currently working at a book on Norman Mailer’s novels.
