An arbitration panel of the Writers Guild of America awarded Mailer sole credit for the four-hour TV series based on The Executioner’s Song. Wynn accepted the verdict; Mailer said “I confess to liking my script much more than Tracy’s; Schiller said, “At least 10 to 15 percent of Norman’s scenes were new scenes that weren’t in the book, and his new dialogue added underpinning to the characters.” See 82.1a.
