Robert Alderman is a writer and poet. He was born and raised on military bases throughout the southeast United States, as his father was an officer in the mechanized infantry and Special Forces. After his first attempt at college, Robert then went on to serve 8 years in the Army, from which he recently earned an honorable discharge. He received an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of South Florida and has published fiction and poetry in several literary magazines. In 2011, he was the winner of the Scholarly and Creative Excellence Award in the Fine Arts. He was also the recipient of the Thomas E. Sanders Scholarship in Creative Writing. Robert is currently moving to Pennsylvania with his wife and two Labradors to work as a part-time lecturer at Penn State.
