Speaking on 30 November at Stanford’s Memorial Auditorium, {{NM}} focused on advertising, television and the Internet, repeating his often-made criticism of the deadening interruptions of the media, which make it “more and more difficult to feel intensity towards one purpose.” The Internet, he said, “is an awful way to waste your time. You get bits of information that have been pre-digested, digested, and digested over again. I find it very difficult to get into a mood.”&lt;br /&gt;
