Aldridge and John Simon, [[Norman Mailer|Mailer]] spoke of his experience as a cook in the army and compared &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Executioner’s Song&amp;#039;&amp;#039; ([[79.14]]) to Truman Capote’s &amp;#039;&amp;#039;In Cold Blood&amp;#039;&amp;#039;: “Truman became emotionally involved.
