Josef Vice (1962-) is an American teacher, course designer, student of Professional Communication at Middle Georgia State University, and dog lover.

=== Childhood and Education ===
Josef Vice, user JVbird, was born in [[w:Wellington, Alabama|Wellington, Alabama]] in 1962, on the day [[w:William Faulkner|William Faulkner]] died. He earned his B.S. in Education, B.A. in English, and M.A. in English at [[w:Jacksonville State University|Jacksonville State University]]. He completed coursework for a PhD in Modern British poetry and Rhetoric and Composition at [[w:Auburn University|Auburn University]]. He also studied [[w:Shakespeare|Shakespeare]] at The University of Birmingham, England. He is currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate program in Professional Communication and Digital Communication at [[w:Middle Georgia State University|Middle Georgia State University]].

=== Career ===
Josef has taught high school and college since 1983, including a stint teaching [[w:English as a Second Language|English as a Second Language]] in [[w:Japan|Japan]]. He is currently a Professor and Course Lead at [[w:Purdue University Global|Purdue University Global]]. He has also designed courses in writing and professional communication. He is a licensed [[w:auctioneer|auctioneer]] as well. 

=== Personal Life === 
Josef and his partner or 20 years have a 17 year old son who is a sports fanatic. Josef enjoys reading, going to thrift stores and auctions, cooking, and watching movies. He is currently contemplating writing a cookbook that features his 35 year quest to find the perfect fried apple pie. He has 5 huskies and spends a lot of time helping stray dogs find homes.
