{{start|James Toback}} worked as a freelance journalist and later as a Creative Writing Instructor at City College of New York, after graduating from Harvard in 1966. An interview for ''Esquire'' with Jim Brown led to the publication in 1971 of ''Jim: The Author's Self-Centered Memoir of the Great Jim Brown''. He followed this with a series of successful screenplays, including ''The Gambler'' and ''Bugsy'', as well as a string of writing and directing credits that include the 1978 film ''Fingers'' and the more recent films ''Two Guys and a Girl'' and ''Harvard Man''. The 2009 documentary ''Tyson'' is Toback’s latest directorial venture.
